The Joseon dynasty ruled Korea for over half a millennium, bequeathing to Korea a considerable cultural heritage. This book will examine three of the better-known areas of Joseon cultural heritage: royal palaces, royal tombs, and the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty.

UNESCO World Heritage means any cultural artefacts or natural sites that need to be preserved for human beings. It must have archeological, ethnological, anthropological, scientific and artistic values. In Korea, there are 9 UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Jongmyo Shrine, Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, Tripitaka Koreana, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, Changdeok Palace, Dolmen, Gyeongju Historic Area, and The Royal Tombs of the Joseon Dynasty.
